In March, President Thomas F. Hofmann called on all students and alumni to participate in the TUM Future Learning Initiative 2023 and present their ideas for teaching at our university. Numerous teams came up with creative concepts and developed innovative approaches. Ten proposals have made it to the finals - and the entire TUM family will select the winners. The online voting is open until October 17.
Encouraging students' creativity to develop and implement innovative concepts for the teaching of the future - that is the idea behind the TUM Future Learning Initiative. President Thomas F. Hofmann launched the competition in 2020. This year it is being held for the second time. Students and alumni were invited to submit their proposals for formats, tools or structures enabling teaching at TUM to meet the challenges of a holistic and future-oriented education even better.
Creative ideas for the future of teaching
The community came up with more than 80 proposals: from new forms for exams to innovative approaches for more inclusion to customized applications of AI. A high-ranking jury selected the ten most promising concepts. At a working retreat, the finalists were accompanied by media experts from ProLehre | Media and Didactics to refine their proposals and presentations.
University-wide voting
At www.tum.de/future-learning, the finalists now present their ideas to the entire TUM family in professionally produced pitch videos. And until October 17, all TUM members can cast up to three votes to select the winners of the TUM Future Learning Initiative 2023 - and decide which ideas will help shape the future of TUM.
