A Prize for the postgraduate student majoring in a European language who achieved the best GPA in a major in at least one European language in their undergraduate study in the previous year.

The Prize was established in 1995 to mark the creation of the School of European Languages and Literatures, which was renamed the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics in 2014.
The main purpose of the Prize is to assist students enrolling in a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Arts or Master of Arts majoring in European Languages, or a Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Arts in Translation Studies at the University of Auckland.
