The Scape Accommodation Scholarship has been established to support UTS
students experiencing financial and/or other educational disadvantages which
impact their ability to support themselves financially.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship an applicant must:
Apply using the Scape Accommodation Scholarship application form; and
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian
permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa;
Be commencing one of the following in Spring Session 2023:
A UTS undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree; or
The Jumbunna UNISTART program; or
A UTS postgraduate research degree; and
Agree to enter into a Rental Tenancy Agreement with Scape that complies
with the requirements set out in clause 4 on the Conditions of Award
Apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for an Equity
Scholarship and therein demonstrate financial disadvantage and/or other
As demonstrated in the scholarship application:
Evidence of financial need and/or other educational barriers as assessed
by the UAC Equity Scholarship and may include:
Regional or remote background
Sole parent responsibilities
Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effect of abuse
Motivation to succeed in an eligible UTS course
Evidence the scholarship would assist the student performance at a higher
level than would be the case
Preference may be given to applicants:
Who are able to demonstrate one or more educational disadvantages in
addition to financial hardship.

Up to ten (10) recipients will receive a discount of fifty percent
(50%) on their respective Scape Rental Accommodation Fees for the
duration of the scholarship.
Maximum duration of the Scholarship is one (1) year.
