Sir John Monash Scholarship for Excellence

The Master of Economics Scholarship is introduced to support recruitment and retention of the best quality students to the research pathway (by application only) of the Master of Economics (B6030). The research pathway has been established from 2023 as a preparatory course for high quality students who are interested in undertaking a PhD in the discipline of Economics, the program will combine coursework units and research elements to prepare students who move into the PhD with the background they need to immediately commence work on their PhD thesis.

Am I eligible? You must be one of the following:
  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder
  • An International student
  • You must meet the following criteria:
  • Commencing student intending to enrol in the Master of Economics in the Monash Business School at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Benefits
  • Tuition fees paid, plus an allowance of $33,000 per annum up to two years.

  • Selection criteria
  • Awarded to the highest achieving commencing students.
  • To retain this scholarship:
  • You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 each semester.
