The Scholarship was established in 2019 and is funded by Jonathan Mason.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to give current international and domestic university students an opportunity to experience research in aspects of Auckland History, and to thereby encourage them to pursue postgraduate study at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland.
