The Prize was established in 2019 and is funded by Dianna Sutherland in memory of her late husband. Dudley Freeman had a lifelong passion for photography as a way of observing and communicating with the world.
The main purpose of the Prize is to recognise and reward the student who has written the most original, creative and interdisciplinary research essay in ARTHIST 246 or ARTHIST 346 in odd years, or ARTHIST 206 or ARTHIST 313 in even years.
