The Award was established in 2016 and is funded by Alumni Neil Paton, Eric Tracey and Rob Whitehouse in honour of Bruce McLaren, and with additional funding in 2017 from Sir Colin Giltrap.
The main purpose of the Award is to provide an international experience of up to eight weeks for a University of Auckland Engineering student to travel to the United Kingdom and spend time at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England. The recipient will participate in a study and research placement.
