Establishment

This is a donor-funded scholarship will support a high achieving commencing student studying a Bachelor of Arts. Preference will to be given to students who are studying a language.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:

  • Commencing study in the Bachelor of Arts (including combined degrees) with University of Newcastle.
  • Preference may be given to students planning to study Languages as part of their degree.
  • Must have completed your Year 12 Higher School Certificate OR a University of Newcastle enabling program within the two years prior to commencing your Bachelor of Arts.
  • Be enrolled full-time.
  • Have achieved a minimum ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) or equivalent of 95 or higher, with adjustment factors NOT included.
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident (includes New Zealand Permanent Residents).
  • Not be the recipient of another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship concurrently.
  • Required Documentation

    Required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’ page of your application. The application portal accepts PDF only. A maximum of 3 PDF smaller than 5 MB can be added per document type upload field.

  • Benefit

    The scholarship provides a total benefit of $5000 to be paid after the Semester 1 census date.

    Selection

    No application is required for this scholarship.

    The scholarship will be automatically awarded following Semester 1 main round admissions intakes. Preference will be given to the highest ranked eligible student, with consideration being given to intention to study languages. Eligible students are considered on the basis of raw ATAR results, however if there are no or limited eligible candidates, scholarships office may refer students for consideration on basis of meeting the ATAR requirement with adjustment factors.
